Tonight we got food, and beer, and it rained. Absolutely dumped rain in a downpour. We moved faster walking back to the Rocket than we did in the past 5 days!
We are both tired and extremely pleased with what we accomplished in 5 days with no crew. Dale wrote us and I know he wanted to be here but some things are more important. So far he's been safe from the fire and that is all we really want.
I'll blog in more detail after I get home. It was a great learning experience and will be useful in the future.
As I told Ed, I don't feel the need to come back to do this one again. I'd rather do Badwater. But there's so much to tell about this experience, and I'm glad things went the way they did. If everything went perfectly all the time, you wouldn't learn the most important lessons in life!
After a couple of beers and some real food, I'm ready to crash. Tomorrow we will get some coffee, maybe a real breakfast, and hit the road.
Thanks to everyone who commented, i didn't have time to reply but I appreciate all of you and I'll reply once I get home. Keep the comments coming! Thank you for reading!
