For your viewing pleasure

This is a video of highlights from the 2010 Badwater Ultramarathon. If this doesn't inspire you, call 911.

In the scene where the guy crosses the finish line with his baby on his shoulders, if you look to the right there are two women cheering in the background, standing next to a white van. I'm the short one in the white t-shirt. Megan and I were up there for the medical team while many of the fastest runners were finishing. That was pretty inspirational to watch, too.

My brother-in-law does ultra marathons. The weather here in Ireland is nice and cool for it! Well done.

I was so moved by this clip. As a new (returning from looong break) runner it inspires me to keep going. I mean if these (you) cats can do this, surely I can go do the three miles on my schedule. Second, as a team member it fills me with joy. I crewed for a Hood to Coast team last year, and watching this brought back all that camaraderie and sense of accomplishment. Thanks for sharing!

Wow good luck! I drove through Death Valley and couldn't imagine what it would be like to run it. Have a fantastic run!

Tim, I checked out your blog, very cute. I wish you the best getting back into running. Be careful with the barefoot stuff though. It's good that you're doing short distances. Shoes are not as evil as they are made out to be, so I hope you'll consider them again. They do have their merits.

Mimi, thanks for the comments, we are going to have the BEST adventure!

I just found your blog and Wow! So Amazing and inspirational. I have been running for about 3 years now. However, I am still the slowest kid on the block. :) Therefore, I am not a great runner and actually began after my father, an athlete, was discovered to have NON smokers lung cancer.

The thought of doing an ultra marathon is inspiring yet frightening. Yet this video gives such hope. Thank you for sharing.

I look forward to following your journey. I hope you have a wonderful time. Good luck.

Thanks Margaret, it doesn't matter how fast you go, just remember just being out there and moving is important. How is your father doing? Keep running and make the most of every day.
